Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale 14 (RAADS-14)

What is the RAADS-14?

The RAADS-14 is a self-report questionnaire designed to assess traits associated with autism spectrum conditions (ASC) in adults. The RAADS-R consists of 14 questions related to mentalising deficits, social anxiety and sensory reactivity.  The test can be used to identify individuals who “escape” diagnosis in other clinical evaluations. The RAADS-14 is a condensed version of the RAADS-R which has 80 questions.

How are RAADS-14 scores interpreted?

• A score of 14 and above suggests a presence of autism

• A score of 13 and below suggests an absence of autism

• A median score of 32 was found in 135 adults with normal intelligence diagnosed with autism spectrum condition (ASC).

• It is important to note that the RAADS-14 is only a screening instrument to help with the assessment process and an accurate diagnosis of autism can only be made by a qualified specialist
